There is a link to assured breeders in the scheme below and also to the breed specific health testing for assured breeders. On checking the assured breeder breed specific health tests and requirements the actual requirements for Boxers says none, and the recommendations only say hip scoring and breed club heart testing, so even with an assured breeder you still need to do your homework, be familiar with the tests and still ask. However even then, some are actual requirements and others are only reccomendations, and like everything else even that isn't always infallible and there will always those that may not be what they should be. Assured Breeders are supposed to do health tests as part of the criteria to be an assured breeder. There also also links to all the various Boxer Breed clubs at the end of the link below.ĭogs trust have good information about what to look for in a breeder and what to be suspicious about.Ĭlick to expand. There is the Kennel club assured breeders scheme. KC registration though is not a 100% assurance that you have always purchased a totally healthy well reared socialised pup. You should get some form of pedigree though even if its not a KC printed one, some breeders do have their own pedigrees. ![]() If the Breeders doesn't also give you the KC pedigree you can also one of those the same time as you arrange the re-registration. With a KC registered pup, at least you know the full pedigree and lines, again if the pups KC registered then most breeders will give you the registration certificate again for you to transfer ownership in your name. One of mine was Microchipped by the RSPCA and I was given the paper work with the details and to enable me to transfer the details to mine. If the puppy has been microchipped then usually the paper work should be there too. If the puppy has been vaccinated by a vet they should have automatically had the normal puppy health check at the same time, in which case they should be able to give you a vaccination card I would have thought.
